Contra Costa (CoCo) Café Senior Nutrition Program
This program is provided by Contra Costa County Health Services and held at the Antioch Senior Center at 415 W 2nd Street . The CoCo Café is a lunch program for adults 50 years of age and older. The CoCo Café offers nutritionally balanced meals daily. The Café promotes social interaction and companionship among seniors. No membership is required and there are no income level restrictions. For some of our seniors, this is the only hot meal they receive per day. Hot nutritious lunches are served Monday-Friday at 11:30am until 12:30pm. Meals must be reserved by 11:15AM one business day prior to attending. All meals served are low-sodium and low-fat. Suggested donation, set by the county, is $3.00 for 60+ and $5.00 fee for those under the age of 60. No senior (60+) is denied a meal due to lack of lunch donation. Upon signing on for lunch, you receive a blue bus ticket – a free ride to and from the Antioch Senior Center. For more information or to reserve your meal please call our office Nutrition at (925) 757-7325 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
We recognize that these recommendations fail to address, for many, the struggle of the lack access to healthy food and adequate nutrition on a daily basis. Seniors who need food delivered directly to their homes, please contact Meals on Wheels – Diablo Region, to be added to one of their existing routes. Phone number is 925-937-8311. If you or any other senior needs transportation assistance to and from grocery stores, doctor visits, or need companionship – please contact 925.779.7077, leave a message and we will get back to you.
