Water Aerobics
16 years and up
The ultimate in low impact aerobics. Classes accommodate all fitness levels with emphasis on cardio, muscle toning and fun. No swimming skills required.
Take the first step in joining the Antioch Water Park lifeguard team! Become a certified lifeguard. Completion of the course will result in Lifeguard, CPR/AED, First Aid, and Title 22 certifications.
Prerequisites (will be verified on the first day of in person course)
Swim 300 yards continuously, demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing.
Tread water for two minutes using only the legs.
Swim 20 yards, retrieve a 10-pound object from 7-10 feet of water, swim 20-yards on the back to the starting point with both hands holding the object and exit the water without using a ladder or steps within 1 minute 40 seconds.
American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Training
16 years and up
Start your journey to becoming a swim instructor by becoming American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certified! This blended learning course is a mixture of online learning and in person teaching. Upon meeting the prerequisites (see below), participants will receive a link to complete the online portion of the course prior to the first day of in person instruction.
Course Prerequisite Check: Sunday March 6th, 10am, Antioch Water Park Lap Pool
Participants must show each of the following skills in order to take this course:
Swim one (1) lap of each of the following strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, elementary backstroke, sidestroke
Swim 15 yards of butterfly
1 minute back float
1 minute treading water
Successful completion of this course will result in a Water Safety Instructor certification as well as the ability to teach swim lessons at the Antioch Water Park.
