The State of California and Contra Costa County Health Order have amended their guidelines to allow the opening of outdoor dining and outdoor businesses, including hair salons and barber shops. Effective immediately, the City of Antioch would like to provide guidance on how to properly provide for your outdoor seating or business. The Community Development Department’s Zoning Administrator has produced an Outdoor Dining Application (for restaurants) and an Outdoor Business Application (for all other businesses). These are both no-fee applications that can be approved directly by the Zoning Administrator, most likely within 24 hours.

Here is what you need to know:

  • Return the appropriate application to the Zoning Administrator, Forrest Ebbs email: febbs@ci.antioch.ca.us
  • Approved applications are good for 90 days

The Planning Division is responsible for the development and administration of programs to guide the physical development of Antioch, utilizing the General Plan, a variety of Specific Plans and the City’s Zoning Ordinance for policy guidance. The Division provides design and environmental review of development proposals and general public information services.

The Division provides the Planning Commission and the City Council with analyses and recommendations on development applications.
